The HeArt of Zootopia: Lessons from Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde

The Disney movie "Zootopia" tells the story of Judy Hopps, a determined bunny police officer, and Nick Wilde, a clever fox. The two work together to show that anyone with inspiration, self-confidence, and perseverance can be anything they want to be, and that friendship, courage, and kindness can truly transform the world. At Theo Art School's summer camps, we will teach the lessons from Zootopia through art!

Lessons & Camp Experience
It’s that exciting time of year again! The 17th Annual Art Attack Summer Camps are here, featuring the colorful world of Zootopia! Campers will have the opportunity to create a variety of imaginative art projects inspired by Judy, Nick, and their animal friends and using a variety of mediums, including clay, acrylics, watercolors, cardboard, pottery, and more. The anticipation grows with the announcement of a guest artist!

The question for all is:
WHAT’S IN YOUR SUMMER? Join Theo Art School for an unforgettable summer adventure!

At the HeArt of Zootopia Camp

Every camper is encouraged to embrace their individuality and create their own ART that brings the vibrant world of Zootopia to life. Campers experience art and fun while learning valuable lessons about teamwork, self-confidence, and believing in themselves through creative expression. The guiding philosophy is simple: “In Zootopia, anyone can be anything.”

Campers will learn the core values of Zootopia that align closely with the philosophy of Theo Art School:

  • Overcoming Challenges: Through collaborative art, campers learn to work together and support each other.

  • Pursuing Your Art: Inspired by Zootopia's Judy Hopps, every child is encouraged to dream big, take risks, and have faith in their potential as artists.

  • Resilience: Campers discover that in art, there are no mistakes, only opportunities to learn and grow.

  • Working Together: Team projects and collaborative art teach the importance of cooperation and trust, showing that together, anything is possible.

  • The Power of Friendship: Zootopia’s enduring lesson is that friendship can change everything. By the end of the week, campers will have formed new friendships, meaningful connections, and lasting memories through art.

Zootopia's 12 Ecosystems = 13 Weeks of Art Exploration

Zootopia is a lively metropolis composed of 12 unique ecosystems: Sahara Square, Tundratown, Little Rodentia, Rainforest District, Savannah Central, Meadowlands, Outback Island, The Burrows, Canal District, Nocturnal District, The Bayou, and Mammal Mountain. Each week of the camp is dedicated to exploring these ecosystems through art, inspired by famous artists and involving a variety of artistic mediums. We will also be bringing in a little bit of the real Zootopia as we collaborate with local partners like Dakota Zoo, TV anchors, a local glassmaker, the police department, and, of course, ecosystems experts!

After registering, you'll receive a parent packet by email the Thursday prior to the camp.
