Who We Are
Watch the video to learn about Theo Art School and its history.
Theo Art School is a non-profit art school offering educational artistic enrichment to the youth and the adult populations in our community of Bismarck, North Dakota, and surrounding cities. Founded in 1992, Theo has served more than 5,000 students from ages 10 months to 93.
Theo Van Gogh (the subject painted in the straw hat in our banner at the top of each page) was the brother of famous Dutch Impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh. It was Theo who encouraged Vincent to pursue his dream of art and then supported him financially through his years as an artist. Theo was Vincent's life-long supporter and best friend.
Like Theo the man, Theo Art School encourages students to pursue their dreams of art and offers financial help to those in need. We believe every child should have the advantage of a quality fine art education. We keep our tuition as low as possible and we offer full scholarships. There are no additional charges to tuition, and all art supplies are included. We are very grateful for our sponsors who help keep our costs affordable, and our board of directors for their guidance and support.
We have a multitude of opportunities not just for learning but for sharing and gifting as well. We are open year-round. Our studios are located in the lower level of the Frances Leach High Prairie Arts and Science Complex at 1810 Schafer Street in Bismarck, North Dakota. With ample parking, a very safe environment, access to excellent instructors, and studios that inspire you the minute you walk down the stairs, parents and students get a fabulous art experience.
Whether you're interested in art classes for your children, your business associates, or yourself, or you're looking for summer art camps or workshops, or you're just looking for a new hobby, Theo is the place for you!
